Transit / Railroad Division:  RAM Industrial Services Transit/Railroad Division specializes in repair, manufacturing, service, and new product sales for Transit and Rail applications.  We consider the quality of our products and services to be of the utmost importance. The goal is to provide professional services that exceed the requirements of our customers. Ram is committed to continuous quality improvement. Customer Base:  Our customers include transit authorities, railroads, short line railroads, wheel and axle shops, car and locomotive manufacturers and re-builders.

Quality System:   The current RAM Quality System is an ISO 9002 Compliant Quality Program.  We are in the process of achieving AAR, M1003 Certification.  A Comprehensive Written Procedure Program and Technical Traveler Program have been implemented to ensure our customers that every job or project will proceed with the highest possible quality.

Training:  Our in house Technical Department trains and certifies our employees to properly perform their duties.  Wire Preparation, Wire Routing, Lead Installation, Crimping and Mechanical Measurements certifications are mandatory for all employees working in the Parts Preparation and Assembly Stations in our facility.

Services:   HVAC Equipment – Our specialists repair, service, test,
manufacture, reclaim, charge, and inspect HVAC units for transit and railroad applications.  We can supply new units as well as repair your current piece of equipment. RAM is experienced in the repair of High Speed Rail PC run HVAC Equipment. We repair transit condenser units, evaporator units, transit freon compressors, transit rooftop mount HVAC units, cab heaters, step heaters, floor heaters, locomotive air conditioners, control panels, refrigerators, chillers, air conditioning coils, and various HVAC equipment.

Mechanical/Electrical Equipment Repair – RAM has qualified and certified technicians experienced in the repair and re-qualification of Traction motors (both AC and DC), alternators, auxiliary generators, generators, blower motors, blower motor alternators, motor alternators, air compressors, control panels, engine blowers, pumps, refrigerators, cooling fans, door operators, speed sensors, gearboxes, smoothing reactors, control panels, transformers, blowers, fans and related equipment.

Rewinding – RAM has qualified and certified winding technicians experienced in the rewind, re-insulating and repair of equipment for transit and railroad applications.  AC stators, AC rotors, DC armatures, DC coils, smoothing reactors, hermetic motors, generators, alternators, shunts and transformers are all rewound in house.  RAM’s state of the art equipment includes two VPI process tanks capable of handling up to 96” diameter equipment.  We offer coil redesign, reverse engineering and are proficient at winding equipment to O.E.M. Specifications.  

Equipment Sales – RAM offers our customers new AC and DC motors, specialty motors built to customer specifications, brush-holders, motor coils, motor parts, drive parts, variable frequency drives, inverters, speed sensors, blowers, blower wheels, fans, fan blades, step heaters, floor heaters, HVAC parts, air conditioning coils, controls, control panels, enclosures, machined and fabricated parts.  An Utex (Unit Exchange) program is available for some Traction Motors and related parts

On Site Inspection Services – RAM offers on-site electrical and mechanical inspections to help improve fleet reliability.  

Customer Training – Our customer training programs provide our customer’s employees with training for Traction Motor Maintenance, Motor Maintenance, Mechanical repairs and HVAC Maintenance.  The training sessions can be held at our customers’ facilities or the training room in our facility.

Engineering Services – RAM offers mechanical, electrical and refrigerant retro-fits for transit and locomotive HVAC equipment. We offer on site evaluations of HVAC equipment, air flow evaluations and related engineering services.

Facilities:  RAM has a spacious and efficient facility located in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.  This facility is 170,000 square feet and has adequate room for expansion, provides an efficient work area and a safe and pleasant work environment. We are conveniently located to all of Harrisburg’s major interstate roadways and have rail access at our facility.
